A lot of sites combine the match thread with people's team selection and preview of the match, so I thought I would give it a go for the last game. I can always revert back to normal if posters prefer, so just give it a try for the last game of the season and let me know what you think

My team for Everton against Palace on Thursday is an 8 man selection with Seamus Coleman in goal, Pickford up front & Frank Lampard in a one man midfield.

It's all very well changing the thread format (exciting!) and getting it out prematurely but how about sorting out the speed of the site first.
There are fuck all posts on the match day thread during the actual game because it takes about 5 minutes to download a comment. The match day thread has become practically irrelevant.
So for fucks sake sort it out - pretty please.

This will be a tricky match
Brighton have built a decent side mainly of quality signings from Europe 🇪🇺
Potter is the most promising British manager in the game imo and I hope he replaces Moyes when he retires

Good combo idea Charley.
However, don't you think you should include a team prediction and a bit of team news? You could then edit it as things move along, team news comments from Moyes made in the prematch press conference and stuff. Finally putting up the actual team on the day as you do.
A bit of work, but I think needed if you want to combine. You could ask for help. Exile was doing a fine job.

Yes Mex refs announcements from PL normally go up after 12 on a Tuesday
press conferences are normally on day before and. I will be updating as and when info comes in as far as team predictions go I’m leaving that to others not because of the work involved but I think others like to get involved so I’ll leave that for somebody else to start on this thread
